x220t screen won't turn off; won't sleep

2011-10-31, 5:33 AM

Hi,

I have a fairly new x220t.  I have had problems with getting the screen to turn off, or have the laptop sleep.  I've uninstalled the Lenovo power driver and the power manager, and reinstalled them.  I can get the x220t to sleep if I press fn + f4, but not if I leave it alone.

I haven't tried messing around advanced settings or seeing if some of the hardware is prevent the sleep.  I don't have any bluetooth devlces or keyboard/mouse attached, nor Lan.  Perhaps the wifi network card in interrupting the sleep/screen, I dunno.  The basic settings seem reasonable.

I ran powercfg -energy and get 2 errors:

CPU Utilization: Processor utilization is high
The average processor utilization during the trace was high. The system will consume less power when the average processor utilization is very low. Review processor utilization for individual processes to determine which applications and services contribute the most to total processor utilization.
Average Utilization (%) 4.87

Platform Power Management Capabilities: PCI Express Active-State Power Management (ASPM) Disabled
PCI Express Active-State Power Management (ASPM) has been disabled due to a known incompatibility with the hardware in this computer.
I also get 11 warnings.
I'm not too sure what to do about this one, and thought I'd ask here before messing around advanced settings.

For enabling ASPM on windows check last post of this url :

http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/X-Series-Tablet-ThinkPad-Laptops/PCI-Express-Active-State-Power-Management-ASPM-has-been-disabled/m-p/479751

Please lenovo can you confirm if the provided bios does not support ASPM and if it is planned ?
