Hi. I know there is a discussion here about the x230t supporting 4k, but my model is the x230, and also the said topic ended without a clear answer.
Since now 4K TV's and monitors are so common, could someone please confirm that if we connect an x230 to a 4k display, through DisplayPort, we can get 4K resolution out of it (at 30 Hz) ?
I want to order an LG 24UD58 online (that is a still at about 200 bucks), for the purpose of reading PDFs and using Office (not gaming), but the only place that says it can be done is this, and I needed confirmation (please).
Thank you so much. I think this information could even bring new life to existing x230's and please many owners

I do not have a ThinkPad X230 myself, but I read that it has an Intel HD Graphics 4000 IGP, which supports up to 1920x1200 via HDMI and 2560x1600 via DisplayPort. That said, I did see this discussion about adding custom modes in a second location: https://superuser.com/questions/964703/what-is-the-maximum-display-resolution-on-the-intel-hd-graphi....
My guess is this is such a scarcely-used configuration that you'll have to do some testing and tweaking yourself to confirm it works with your particular hardware configuration.
