Re: x61 error code 0000

I went and checked the post that Ron posted and there are recovery discs but only for the supported systems that were listed and the X61 wasn't on the list. I have been looking around the internet and I have found some but I don't know if they are legitimate discs.

please confirm whether you spoke with Lenovo Service (US Support Center at 1-800-426-7378) about disk availability. they may still have stock even if you don't see it in the list. please avoid questionable internet web sites purporting to provide official recovery media.

thanks.

Re: x61 error code 0000

The Recovery disc part numbers for every model of the X61, arranged by OS, language, and model type, are here:

http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=PD004510

Call 1-800-426-7378 to order them.  I'm pretty sure they are $45.00 per set.

Re: x61 error code 0000

Will I be charged for the call even if my warranty expired?

Re: x61 error code 0000

i don't think so. you're not asking for troubleshooting for possible servicing. you should only ask for availability and price of the x61t vista business recovery disks. if they ask for payment just for the call, then politely decline and disconnect.

please let us know what you learn.

cheers.

Re: x61 error code 0000

I was unable to receive help because of my warranty status. It expired in June of 2012. Is there any way for me to buy them from the Lenovo website by downloading them on a blank DVDs?

i've never seen them offered for purchase through any Lenovo (or IBM before that) web site. i always had to go through Service to get them.

Re: x61 error code 0000

JCSH29,

That doesn't sound right to me.  Support should be willing and able to to sell you the Recovery discs if they are still available (and it doesn't say they aren't on the page that I linked to earlier).   I'm checking for you just to make sure though.

Try Sales and see if they can sell them to you.  1-877-958-4465

Let us know what they say.

**EDIT**  I just spoke with Lenovo Sales and they said the Recovery discs can be purchased through the support number I gave you earlier.  1-800-426-7378

Re: x61 error code 0000

I spoke with someone in Lenovo Training and Quality and they confirmed that you can order the Recovery CDs from the support number.  You would just have to pay the applicable charge.
