so i bought this x61 tablet from a website like www.woot.com that sells one random item for super cheap, each day. anyways i got this laptop and i cant get the touch or the pen to work. flip the screen into tablet mode and nothing. nothing in slate mode either. i tried to then go into the control panel and calibrate it. nothing. i have no idea what to do from here. the o/s is windows 7 if that helps. also it has none of the thinkvantage programs on it either so ill have to put all those on. wondering if that might be the problem?

Windows 7 has tablet features built into the OS . You should get some kind of response right off the bat.
Go into control panel, system, about the middle of the page there will be a statement whether or not the display supports pen or touch, or not.
If it says that it supports pen or touch or both, then I would say that you might need a new pen.
It should work somewhat with the windows 7 drivers right out of the box. You will eventually have to do what GMAC-R60 says and load drivers to get everything working as designed, but you should get some response right away.

You posted the drivers, he's gonna need those anyway.
Vista and windows 7 has tablet functions right out of the box. I was surprised when the pen worked right away when I loaded windows 7.
In the link that GMAC-R60 provided under Thinkvantage Utilities, you'll find System Update. Install and run that one first. That will bring up most if not all of your drivers and you can install them from there.

Okay, that's a good thing. Go into control panel, tablet pc settings, display, setup, the screen that comes up should say "tap this screen with your tablet pen to set it as the tablet pc screen."
tap it and see if anything happens. If nothing happens, then I would say the batteries are dead in your pen or there's a problem with your screen. You should get something there.
Edit: you don't have to flip your screen for it to work in tablet mode, it should work as a tablet in any position.

no, it's part of the pen. I always got all of mine off of ebay. You wouldn't happen to know anyone with a tablet, an hp or a gateway? Or another model thinkpad? Other pens will work, it's just that the buttons on the pen are different but you could at least test it with a known working pen before you buy one and that's not the problem.
