2021-06-15, 12:56 PM

Hi community,

I have a Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 8 notebook, which has Iinternet wi fi outages. The sintomans are that i'm in a video calling for example and i desconect a minute aproximily and i back to the call, at the same time i can't into to a website, i mean, the internet is unavailable

I did:

  1. I test my internet connection:
    1. I connected from another wi-fi device.
    2. Actually i connected to the same video call with another notebook (at the same time), and i don't have the same issue.
  2. I checked the last drivers.
  3. I changed the motherboard.
  4. I reinstalled Windows 10.

I don't get what else can i do.

I Apreciate your help.

Welcome to the Community

To help narrow it down, test the X1 on an entirely different network, such as at work or at a coffee shop. In a pinch, tethering to a phone would work. If it works fine on another network, it could be your router. The power-saving capabilities of newer computers don't always work well with older routers.

If it also fails on other networks, there are some settings we can look at, but try the other networks, first.

Hi Doc, Thanks for your answer.

Yes, how i said i test with another network, actually i'm in my home in the same video call with my Lenovo and with a hp notebook and just the lenovo notebook disconected from internet. I test the same with my mobile for example. I could discard the network and router.

Had the same problem with the new x1 yoga gen 6 with the wifi drivers from Microsoft update.

Updating with the latest drivers from Intel itself fixed this
