ThinkPad Thunderbolt 3 Workstation Dock Gen 2 - issues connecting external monitor

I have Thinkpad X1 Extreme with ThinkPad Thunderbolt 3 Workstation Dock Gen 2. When I connect an external monitor either of to the dock station's HDMI ports, it doesn't work. When I plug the monitor directly to the laptop, it works fine. I have updated both the dock station firmware and the driver to the latest version and the issue still persist.

Is this the first time setting up the dock?
Kindly check the user manual for proper cable connections

This is not the first time using the device and I have definitely set the cables up correctly.

Sorry for the late response.


Kindly try to refresh all connection and disconnect and power down both laptop , monitor and dock.
Press down the power button to both devices to drain remaining flea powers and reconnect back all devices.
Restart and allow the machine to rediscover the devices.
Check on device manager if the dock and monitor are detected.

Hi, sorry for the late response.

 

Would you share the model number of the laptop?
-machine type model / MTM (ex. 81C70000RK)
How was the dock receiving the laptop display output?
Kindly check the support site to update chipset and display drivers.

Check your TB3 cable. Also make sure you go it plugged into the TB3 port.
