Polrbear, thanks for following up. Please let us know if you have a chance to run the diags against the machine to see if that flags anything. Hopefully that will give us something to go on otherwise we would just be guessing.

Just out of curiosity what SP are you running?

Ok great,  that is listed on the compat guide which is why I wanted to check.

Here is a link if you were ever curious to see what OS are supported on the machine.

If the RSTe driver is at the latest (5.5.0.1334) and the server SATA mode set to RAID, I would recommend to install the RSTe management utility and run “Verify and Repair”, this will at least help understand if the problem is due to inconsistencies between the drives. With this software on the system, you will also be able to moniot the health of the RAID volume, review some information about the drives and you may also find related events on the Windows Application log, from source = IAStor

Also make sure you have the latest system uEFI/BIOS, the FW for the embedded RAID controller is included on the system software.

I just noticed you have Windows 7, the information I provided early is for Windows Server OSes, sorry about that.

For the client OSes, Microsoft offer the RST driver (not RSTe, ‘e’ is for enterprise) and not the same features may be available.

Server OS work with the RST driver (limited functionality & tools), I do not know what will happen with RSTe on a client OS.
