RD450 v3 & AnyRaid 500 (LSI MegaRAID SAS 9240-8i) Not Detected

2020-06-03, 19:14 PM

I just got a "working" AnyRaid 500 PCIe adapter (LSI MegaRAID SAS 9240-8i) for my RD450 and I can't get it to recognize in TDM or OS.

Before I send it back as DOA, is there any special BIOS settings I need to change to get a PCI-E Raid controller to initialize?

Hi Abray1978

According to Lenovo ThinkServer RD450 (E5-2600 V3) Product Guide Section Controllers for internal storage, Lenovo ThinkServer RAID 500 PCIe Adapter should be configured with 3.5-inch drive bays and backplane. The card need to be installed on the slot 1. Please refer to the ThinkServer RD450 User Guide and Hardware Maintenance Manual for more information about RAID 500 PCIe Adapter installation process.

You also can refer KB How to create a RAID array within the UEFI text interface and Configure the RAID 1 in TDM to check if you can configure RAID under BIOS or TDM.

Sorry for the extremely delayed response - it turns out the card was DOA.  I got another one and it worked perfectly.

This helped me too
