I burned the ISO to a DVD. It boots but won't run giving the error it can't find a CD ROM.

 

I don't have any CD's on hand. Do you think I should burn it to a CD and give that a try? I can pick some up tomorrow,.

Another option you could try is unplugging the system and removing the CMOS battery for about 30 seconds, then put it back in.

By the way, you may want to also check the formatting on the USB drive. Make sure it is FAT32. Sometimes the formatting on the USB key can cause issues.

Didn't work.

 

I have given up. Won't be buying anymore lenovo products.

 

When its time to replace the eight I have, will look into Dells

I am now having this issue as well.  I recently upgraded by bios to the latest version and now I can't boot via USB.  This is very difficult because I have a 4 drive RAID taking up all of the SATA slots, so I can't use the DVD drive.  Also using an external USB DVD drive does not work.  

 

I have tried various USB drives with various formats, nothing works!  Did basically just handicap my machine following Lenovo's instructions?!?!?!?!

 

Is there a way to roll back the BIOS to a previous version when USB boot was working?  I know you can clear the CMOS BIOS with a jumper and load a new one via USB (I think), but where do I find the old BIOS files?

 

Please Help!

I have researched your issue. Unfortunately, I can not find anything conclusive as to why this has occurred or how to recover from it.  Please call into our support center to open up a ticket so they can research this further and help to resolve your issue.
