I'd love to help you out mate, however the tenants I'm managing belong to a customer of mine and this just wouldn't be permitted. What about returning the device to Lenovo to get it flashed at the factory?

It is out of warranty so it will probably take a lifetime to get anywhere with that. Maybe MS can offer up a free tenant account that enables upgrades. Or Lenovo…how about a utility to flash these devices on our own??

When we had this issue, we updated it to the latest IP phone firmware, then after that successfully completed, we upgraded it to the Display firmware.

As a follow-up, we were able to upgrade the device to a display firmware through a basic tenant.  However, it did not solve the issue with signing into the original secured tenant.  Seems if your tenant is secured or using intune device management, these units fail to login.

What we found is that we had an Intune policy that we needed to exclude the user from because the ThinkSmart View lists itself as Android 8.1 and this was below the minimum version set in our Intune policy.  After creating this exclusion (as well as allowing people to register more devices themselves), this solved our log in problems.

Great find, however that only works if you own or have say in the device policy management.  If I asked my company for an exception, well, I can just see the flashing red lights in their security center going off, and them deploying their 'IT security police' to my residence. :)

Every Teams based device will have this issue eventually.  The Crestron's we have are all Android 9, just a matter of time, etc.
