P500 supports M.2 NVMe drives via the M.2 FLEX adapter (which connects to the board via the FLEX connector, and not a standard PCIe slot).  Note that only slot1 will support NVMe for that platform.  Slot 2 is functional, but only for M.2 SATA drives...not NVMe.


You should also be able to add a M.2 NVMe drive to P500 by using a PCIe add in carrier card.  We're recommend using that in a gen3 x4 slot (or greater) to ensure full performance.  Lenovo Option PN 4XH0L08578 will support this.
