Fan Speed Custom table Request

2021-01-13, 3:41 AM

Hello,

I am currently looking at my GPU temperature reaching 80 degrees celsius with fan speed at 30%. I was wondering if it's possible to customize the fan speed to perform at a higher percentage as my computer freezes when the temperature reaches 90 degrees celsius

Can u be a little more specific i dont see an option were i can toggle the speed. I did read on another forum that we have to request a specific table to configure the speed on my S30

The feature you're referring to was a reserved feature to support large corporate accounts in the event that they needed specific fan speed tables to be implemented to meet certain platform/environmental requirements.  This is not something we offer as a service to general customers due to the sheer amount of variability and testing that would be required to support that sort of endeavor.

From an end-user standpoint, the fan tables for S30 are not field adjustable.

Shadowzhu's comments about fan settings are referencing other (newer) platforms where we do have the ability to manually set fans to different duty cycles as your initial post didn't indicate the platform you were referencing.  That feature doesn't exist on S30 though.

I apologize for not initially stating I have an s30. Is there anything you would recommend to lowering the GPU temperature? Or does that issue come with graphics card?

I currently have a Nividia Quadro 4000 and when the temperature reaches 90 degree celsius the fan speed is at 45%. Shouldn’t the fan speed automatically increase because of the high temperature?

Do you have the proper front fan installed in your S30?  I don't think the front fan was shell fit on that platform (would have to double check to be sure), so if the chassis didn't have a front fan, you'd definitely want to add one with any aux powered GPU.

Might be tough to find at this point, but the FRU for that front fan assembly is 41R5595.

The GPU will manage it's own thermals as well.  The fan on the GPU is completely controlled by the card.  90C is pretty high (depending on load), so hopefully the addition of the proper front fan will help.
