Lenovo ThinkStation P340 With M.2 SSD's Not Seen in Paragon

2020-12-22, 12:49 PM

Computer Lenovo ThinkStation P340 with 2x 512G,M.2,2280,PCIe3x4,SAM,OPAL setup in a RAID 1 config.
Running Intel(R) Chipset SATA/PCIe RST Premium Controller
Running Paragon Hard Disk Manager 15 version 10.1.25.431 (22.11.14 ) Professional

I received a new Lenovo ThinkStation P340, with 2 M.2 PCIe SSD drives, and when I went to run the recovery media builder to make a ISO to boot from. When it goes to boot and I go to backup the drives, it doesn't see the drives. So I recreated the image and added the drivers for the Intel RST chipset. Restarted, and Paragon still didn't see the drives. So I manually installed the drives from the boot software and still could not see the drives.

So I thought I might need the chipset drivers for the motherboard and I loaded those to the ISO and still does not read the drives, but also loaded them into the boot software like before.

I have used this piece of software before with regular SATA SSD drives with no problems. If I where to run the program inside windows it runs fine. But I can't get it to run outside of windows.

If anybody has any information that could help me with this it would be greatly appreciated.

Need use the  DISM to build the RSTe Raid Driver into your ISO image  Boot.wim  and Install .wim

note. boot.wim
And Install.wim will contain multiple indexes.
If necessary, multiple indexes must be added to the driver
Tool recommendation DISM GUI

Hope can help

I tried installing an Intel H10 Optane SSD on the motherboard of my P330 ThinkStation.

I learned that the drivers available from Intel can be updated using those from the computer manufacture's support site. I also learned that Lenovo does not modify the computer system to allow the installation of Optane products unless they are purchased from and installed by Lenovo.  The software to do the modifications their workstations is not available to the public. An HBRPEKNX0202 Optane SSD can be purchased on the internet for $79.00. At this time, Lenovo sells them for $288.00 uninstalled.

My knowledge of Optane is somewhat limited mostly because we don't encounter a lot of users that want to try to utilize these components.  But the Optane drive you listed below appears to be an H10 model, which is essentially a standalone SSD + Optane memory module.  To my knowledge, we don't have official support for that on P330.

The Optane memory module we did officially support on P330 was the 32GB M10.

Since the H10 is essentially a standalone SSD, and one that we don't support, I would think that any required driver support for that device would have to come directly from Intel and not Lenovo.  Any Optane driver support we have on our site for P330 is likely geared towards the M10 module, not the H10.
