ME_DISABLE Jumper - Lenovo D30

2019-09-15, 18:33 PM

Lenovo D30 MT4223,4224,4229 - I've noticed there is a ME_DISABLE jumper here.

What is it used for? When is it used? Why is it used? What happens to the operations of the machine if we jump this?

I believe it disables the Intel Management Engine, but if your system is working fine, my advice would be that "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"

See this tread   https://github.com/corna/me_cleaner/issues/154

Cheers,

That jumper is indeed a method to hardware disable the ME.  There really should be no reason for an end user to jump these pins.  I believe this header was left populated on the boards for use by service technicians only.
