P330 Tiny 30CE dead after flash

2020-06-29, 22:25 PM

Hi all,

I have a brand new ThinkStation tiny P330 30CE. Did the driver update from the Lenovo utility and with the drivers there was BIOS update. When finished the update utility was restarting and froze on restart. Blue windows screen without anything moving. Left it like that at least an hour. Power cycled it and after that is making just double beeping noises and black screen. No any other signs of life.

Any ideas how I can do some sort of emergency flash or reset?

Greetings,

Todor

Sorted. Red the manual and made bios update CD (DVD is not working). Still black screen, at least the beeps changed. Had to remove the Nvidia graphic card and just than there was something on the screen. After that it was ok with the external card.

Toke me a while.

Glad you were able to get it working.  Based on the 2 beep pattern and the fact that you were able to recover using a BIOS CD, it sounds like you might have somehow ended up doing a BIOS recovery.  Did you ever move the clear CMOS jumper on the motherboard?  Was the Nvidia GPU installed in the system during the recovery, or was that performed with onboard graphics?  What BIOS is the system currently showing now in BIOS setup?
