P340: There are no applicable updates found for your system since the update catalog is not found

We have this issue on one out of four identical ThinkStations P340 Tiny (Product number 30F002EMZ ).

After the initial setup of Windows and first start of Commerical (Disad)Vantage one Package was successfully installed. The second - BIOS failed.

Since then we have this error. Uninstalling/Reinstalling of the App and Service won't help.

There are no applicable updates found for your system since the update catalog is not found.

Vantage typically uses the flash from OS package to flash BIOS, but it's tough for me to guess as to what might have gone wrong during the installation.


There's a SW support forum specific to Lenovo preinstalled SW applications here that might be of more help.  I suggest trying to post your question there:

There ist nothing wrong with the software installation. That was back in May and happens to all of our 4 ThibkStations P340 - and therefore on any other P340 out there. But that’s not an issues because  I installed the Bios Update in the meantime manually.

 

The main problem is the error message:

„There are no applicable updates found for your system since the update catalog is not found.“

 

Commercial Vantage don’t find the update catalog for this machine and therefore no more updates (no matter what kind) are possible anymore with this solution.

 

I did post the issue already in another sub topic with a bunch of other people having the same issue. After months and months there waiting (OP is from 2020) there was finally a Lenovo supporter told us one of the machine with this issue in this threat is end of life…. perfect thanks for nothing. This was for me and all the others with this issue basically useless. So that’s the reason I also post it here on the hope I find people with a similar issue, due to the facts it’s a ThinkStation - maybe some other professionals.

I'm not saying it's a problem with the installation...it's a problem with Vantage.  Some of the Vantage software engineers monitor that forum I posted in the link above, which is why I was directing you to post your question there.  You'll have a higher probability of getting in touch with somebody that might be able to help with the SW issue you're facing.
