P620 : Wake On LAN ( WOL ) cannot be enabled in BIOS

2021-04-08, 12:38 PM

P620 BIOS Version S07KT17A, 1/11/2021 shows a Wake on Lan option in the Power-Automatic Power On section.  This option is not editable and is shown as disabled.  Is there a dependency I am missing that would allow this option to be changed?   DASH is disabled.

If BIOS setting Power-Enhanced Power Saving Mode is Enabled, Power-Automatic Power On-Wake on LAN is automatically set to Disabled and cannot be changed.

Power-Enhanced Power Saving Mode must be set to Disabled to enable selection of a Power-Automatic Power On-Wake on LAN option.

The purpose of "Enhanced Power Saving Mode" is to meet EU Energy-related products Lot 3 Ecodesign Directive standards.  When enabled, powered down really means powered down.  If a PC is meant to be activated by Wake on LAN, "Enhanced Power Saving Mode" must be disabled before enabling "Wake on LAN".

I just checked my P620 system with the latest BIOS S07KT1BA, and Wake On LAN is editable and defaulted to "Automatic".  The other options in the drop-down menu are "Primary" and "Disabled".

DASH should be completely separate from WOL (Wake on LAN).  DASH is a cool feature in itself and we have some documentation posted to guide users through how to setup DASH here.

Thanks. I didn't realize a BIOS update was released this week.
