ThinkStation P330 Tiny (Discrete Graphics) w/ ThinkVision P44w-10 monitor

2020-05-22, 15:13 PM

Hello,

I just received my new order P330 Tiny and ThinkVision and will set it up today. My specs are as follows:

Processor : 9th Gen Intel® Core™ i9-9900T (2.10GHz, up to 4.40GHz, 8 cores, 16MB Cache)

Video Adapter : NVIDIA Quadro P1000 4GB (4xMini DP) Tiny

My question is: will the computer run off of the discrete graphics card by default or do I have to change those settings? Will I have to boot for the first time using the DisplayPort connected to ThinkVision or can I boot connecting the MiniDisplayPorts from the graphics card to the monitor?

Thank you for your help.

Update: running my p330 on thinkvision via DisplayPort. My question: is my system running off of the upgraded Nvidia p1000 by default or do I have to enable this via bios? Asking because I see various things online and would like to know direct from manufacture. Want to make sure I’m using full power of what I’ve purchased.

thank you.

In the P330 Tiny with a discrete GPU installed (i.e., Nvidia Quadro P1000 card), the default system BIOS will prioritize the discrete (Nvidia) GPU over the integrated (Intel) GPU.  Both GPU's (Intel and Nvidia) are both active by default.  However, BIOS post screens will only be available via discrete Nvidia GPU by default.
