ThinkStations S10 6423CTO / Intel G2 160GB SSD

Hi, I'm about to drop an Intel G2 SSD (160GB) into my ThinkStation S10.  I currently have a 3-drive RAID 5 array running and am probably going to mount the SSD in one of the optical bays.

Is there any advice about what SATA port to use?

I think there are 6.  Not sure if some are meant for optical only, etc.

Any performance considerations with what SATA port to use?

It's a dual-boot system.  Planning on 2 partitions on the SSD, one for XP w/software trim and one for WIndows 7 64-bit with trim supported in the OS.

Thanks in advance!

Re: ThinkStations S10 6423CTO / Intel G2 160GB SSD

I don't know of any port configuration concerns with S10 for what you're trying to do.  I'm assuming you have your RAID array on ports 1,2,3.  If you're going to keep your array there, I'd probably make sure the SSD is in 4 and then optical(s) after that.

Thank you.  The RAID is on 1, 2 & 3.  I'll post how things work out when I'm done.
