Thinkstation P310 slow performance

2017-05-06, 23:22 PM

Hi everybody, I need some help.

5 months ago I bought a thinkstation P310 with Intel Xeon E3-1245 v5, memory 32 Gb, graphic card NVIDIA Quadro K1200 4GB, windows 10 pro 64 bit, but I experience a very slow performance when I'm working on Autocad 2016 and 3Ds Max 2016, I have not experienced this with older PCs with lower specs, even a laptop with integrated video.

I don't know if there is something wrong with the graphic card or if I need to configure it or how to do it, because I have searched for information about it every where (Nvidia, Autodesk, Google, Lenovo) but I have gotten nothing.

Thanks

Have you tried using our Lenovo performance tuner application? What this will do is it will optimize your system for best performance running a specific application (i.e., Autocad).  Since Autocad is a single threaded application, you can optimize the system to dedicate your first CPU core to run strictly Autocad.

Thank you, I will try. I want to know also, I need to change any configuration to the graphic card? I switch the program I'm working with everytime on the nvidia control panel and goes a little better, but if I work in both programs at the same time turns very slow.

Not that I'm aware of.  What exactly are you changing everytime in the Nvidia Control Panel?

I'm curious to understand what you mean by slow performance... is it a hard drive read/write issue?  Are you using an SSD?  On the video performance, there really is nothing I can think of that requires tuning on a per application basis-- set it to the default nvidia settings and its good to go for most anything you can toss on it.  It might also be a dumb question, but are you using the video outputs from the gpu and not the ones on the computer backpane?

Finally, are you drivers up to date?  Autocad isnt a super intensive application so looking forward to what slow performance you are describing.
