Very low volume with Realtek on Lenovo Tiny P340

2021-04-08, 6:11 AM

My machine model is 30DF001NUS. It is brand new, the sound of the PC internal speaker (realtek audio) is very low, even with volume set at 100%. I have all updates installed, I already tried to remove the device/driver and reinstall using device manager, the problem persists. Headphones connected to the front jack sound very good and loud.

Any help appreciated.

Thank you,

Martin

Hi mcordova,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Do you also have the High Definition Audio System Software drivers installed and the correct Realtek ones from the support site

Also try this:

Type "Sound Settings" into the search bar and click the result.
Click Device Properties under the "output" section of the speakers.
Select "Additional Device Properties" on the right side.
Check "Enhancement" tab and "Power Management" tab.
Make sure all "Enhancements" are off.
Uncheck "Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device"  in the power management tab.
In some scenarios. Check the box.

Regards

Voithos

I have noticed this before on the Thinkstation P340 Tiny system that the internal speaker volume is really not that loud.  Would you be opposed to hooking up some external speakers directly to the system?

I have paired Bose Bluetooth soundlink II working very well too, as well as wired and BT headphones, no problem, it is just the internal speaker controlled by Realtek.

Martin

Yep, I think that might OK.  The internal speaker definitely isn't very loud in comparative to external speakers.

I know that the internal speaker is not very powerful, but this one is barely audible with the volume set to 100%, I have a P330 tiny to compare with so I know it is not normal.

I don´t know if it is normal, but Vantage does not show sound options under the Devices section:

I removed the Realtek device and deleted the driver and then reinstalled the Realtek package that I downloaded from the Drivers page for my tiny P340, same results, barely audible sound via Realtek speaker and as you can see above, Vantage shows nothing about the Audio device.

Regards,

Martin

Yep, thanks for bringing this up.  We are working through this internally with the development team.
