it is an ThinkStdation P310

 

how could i fix this?

Are you receiving an error during the installation?

 

Have are you trying to use Windows Update, or are you trying to use Windows Installation Media to perform the upgrade?

Given version 1903's issues, will Lenovo Vantage push it as a system update before Microsoft's November deadline?  

 

I gave up trying in vain to install it. 

 

1903 claims to download and install, but when I run the winver command it detects version 1809 on my ThinkStation P330 30C5.

 

If appropriate, would someone from Lenovo weigh in on this concern?

Lenovo Vantage does not push Microsoft Windows updates, so you should probably check your Windows Update logs for errors, run the Windows Update Troubleshooter, or upgrade using the Windows Installation Media method; the latter being my recommendation since it would bypass and correct any Windows Update issues while updating your Windows to 1903.

hi!

i tried 3 times update to 1903 but did not work also with the upgrade assistance did not work

 

i will wait till lenovo fix it 

 

this message always come after not working update

Hello,

 

As JDGillis mentioned, Lenovo does not push out Microsoft updates so it is unlikely that a fix will come from anyone other than Microsoft. There are a number of users experiencing this issue, and it appears that most of the issues center around installing the Windows feature update in 1903. As there are a large number of people having this issue there are a lot of different suggested workarounds. As we have not seen this issue in any of our test systems we have not been able to test any of these posted solutions but it might be worth you reading up on what they are doing and see if any of their issues show the same log results as you have, which could indicate their solution may work for you.

I misunderstood, I thought that Microsoft's Windows Update was already pushing the Windows 1903 Update to your system and then failing.

 

Below is a list of logs that would be created during the install of 1903     If you get an opportunity, you might locate the logs that are applicable to your issue based upon when the update fails, zip them up and attach them to a reply.

The following log files are created when an upgrade is successful:

  • C:\Windows\Panther\Setupact.log
  • C:\Windows\panther\setuperr.log
  • C:\Windows\inf\setupapi.app.log
  • C:\Windows\inf\setupapi.dev.log
  • C:\Windows\panther\PreGatherPnPList.log
  • C:\Windows\panther\PostApplyPnPList.log
  • C:\Windows\panther\miglog.xml

The following log files are created when an upgrade fails during installation before the computer restarts for the second time:

  • C:\$Windows.~BT\Sources\panther\setupact.log
  • C:\$Windows.~BT\Sources\panther\miglog.xml
  • C:\Windows\setupapi.log
  • [Windows 10:] C:\Windows\Logs\MoSetup\BlueBox.log

The following log files are created when an upgrade fails during installation after the computer restarts for the second time:

  • C:\Windows\panther\setupact.log
  • C:\Windows\panther\miglog.xml
  • C:\Windows\inf\setupapi.app.log
  • C:\Windows\inf\setupapi.dev.log

  • C:\$Windows.~BT\Sources\Rollback\setupact.err
