SR630 and ethernet connection

2020-12-17, 10:27 AM

Hi,

A new SR630 just arrived and it has only one ethernet port which according to the setup guide is "XClarity Controller network connector". Can I use this port to connect the server to our network or should I get a network card for this?

Hello completelylost,

Welcome to the community!

The LXCC is the BMC for the server. This cannot be used for regular data traffic. A card will need to be installed in order to move forward.

So basically it works as a "normal" ethernet port? Does is do that out-of-the-box or does this require configuration?
