(ThinkSystem SR650) Disk Array RAID 1 problem with VMware ESXi

My company purchase a new Lenovo ThinkSystem SR650 with two SAS HDD each one 300GB while I trying to configure RAID Disks the operation done Successfully the array have created with total available space 300GB until now every thing ok but when I am trying to install VMware ESXi 7 the ESXi see only 150GB data store and it should be300GB .

 

 

any idea about this situation ???

May I know which method you used to create RAID?

Are you using LXPM to install ESXi? Can you take a screenshot?

it is better to provide the snapshot of the issue you observed  and provide vd info from xcc gui ,   did you configure two vd in this raid1 array ?

I used the LXPM  to configure the RAID  1 also I use the LXPM  to install the VMware ESXi 7

Hi jeromez

 

as shown in the picture the xcc shows the vd 1 configured with RAID 1 with total storage 278 GB it is = 300 GB

but in the esxi side shows only 150 GB

this is my issue 

I do not know if its VMware ESXi 7  issue or RAID issue

Have you created more than 1 volume? I see 2 storage spaces on the screenshot.

May you click storage to see the overall storage status?

pls navigate to below path to check the disk (vd /jbod) and size,  

 

 

 

 

storcli /c0/v1 show all

 

vd naa id can be used to identify the disk on the vsphere .

The storage in devices tab shown as 300 GB also the system uses all the 300 GB but the ESXi7 uses another partitions layout  for more info's this is the link  https://www.virtuallyghetto.com/2020/05/changing-the-default-size-of-the-esx-osdata-volume-in-esxi-7-0.html
