ThinkSystem ST550 Type 7X10: One or more virtual drive are in abnormal status

2021-02-28, 19:49 PM

We are receiving warning emails like this every so often (months apart).  The content is cryptic and we're not sure what to make of it.  The virtual drives in the system all seem fine (Optimal) when we view them in the XClarity controller.  Does anyone know if this is a known issue?  Is it a false positive?

Hello Daaaave,

I found a similar case at the following post . It is recommended to make sure if any events of consistency check were recorded in RAID controller log.

Thank you,

by check code "x0040,Warning" on xcc log ,it indicate Consistency Check inconsistency logging disabled on %s (too  many inconsistencies)

this was the known issue on caseless controller ,detail refer to below.

Update: we have updated the firmware via the XClarity web interface, but the problem continues.  That is, we received another notification like the one in the original post.  Should we open a support ticket?

The "Consistency Check found inconsistent parity on VD . . ." message is informational, it can be ignored. This message informs the user there was a parity problem and it was resolved, now there is no problem.

If XCC report drive failure or PFA error, please open a ticket to replace the drive. Thank you,
