Thinksystem SR250 128gb upgrade issie

2020-05-19, 18:08 PM
I have upgraded 4pcs 32gb UDIMM ECC DDR4 RAM sticks on SR250 running on UEFI version ISE110F. I noticed that this version only recognizes upto 64gb RAM. When I try to upgrade the UEFI to ISE114J which is what is available on the Lenovo site, I am prompted to upgrade to ISE112I first. However I can't seem to get this package. Please assist where I can get this package download so that I can do a USB upgrade via Xclarity Provisioning Manager. Or how I can get the 128gb to work

Hi Sir,

According to Lenovo ThinkSystem SR250 Server Product Guide, the server supports up to 128 GB of memory. But 32 GB UDIMMs are supported only with the Intel Xeon E Series processors and require the UEFI version ISE114H or later; Core i3, Pentium Gold, and Celeron G Series processors do not support 32 GB UDIMMs.

  1. Could your please confirm if the SR250 installed Intel Xeon E Series processor?
  2. In order to support 32 GB UDIMMs, you need to update the UEFI version to ISE114H or later. Please find and update ISE112I firmware first, and then update to the latest firmware ISE114J.

Dear sir,

Thanks for the update.  Sorry took long to reply.  Yes it is E series processor.  I see since you updated the ticket now I have gotten the link to download UEFI ISE112I.  I have downloaded it and ISE114J.  I will attempt to upgrade these firmware then revert back to you.  Thanks a lot for this.

Regards,

E.J. Mosha
