XClarityController web interface on ST550

2021-05-25, 14:23 PM

What are the steps to enable XClarity controller web interface on ST550 system?

Successfully upgraded all the firmware listed in XClarity Provisioning Manager.

The system is accessible via keyboard, mouse & monitor.

XClarityController Web interface is not accessible from the same system - does not respond to pings even.

Can not for some reason reset user password.

Even after all the BMC settings are reset, the default password is rejected as incorrect.

I missed what you said about the LXCC not needing to be on the network. There is a way to do this using the LAN over USB feature but I believe this is turned off by default. What operating system is running on the server? The LAN over USB allows you to connect to the BMC through an internal connection. This internal interface is configured with a 169.254.95.118, by default. Depending on the operating system this interface is enabled by default.

Hello Zals Gurkis,

Welcome to the community!

How is your network setup? Are you directly connected to the server or going through an already configured network or home network?

There should be a dedicated port for the BMC which will give you access to XClarity Controller. The web interface is enabled by default, so configuring the port with an IP address can type into the browser.

If you are still experiencing issues can you provide more detail on the steps you are taking to access LXCC along with the individual ports you are connecting to. I see there are 3 network ports on this server.

by port do you mean an IP address? Or a specific port e.g. :3000?

There are settings for IP address, dedicated / shared, but no input box for a port.

I tried to set fixed ip address, DHCP. None works.

Typing IP address or hostname with http://, https:// prefix results in ERR_ADDRESS_UNREACHABLE

There is no need for XClarityController to be accessible on the network. Loopback 127.0.0.1 would suffice.

I am referring to a physical port. The dedicated/shared configuration refers to gaining access to the BMC using the "Data" ports (Shared) or using the "BMC" port (Dedicated).

If you are configuring the Dedicated port with an IP address but don't have a cable connected to the BMC port then you will not be able to get access to LXCC.

Can XClarityController be configured to be accessed via a web browser on the same physical system?

Is this what the

 "Data" ports (Shared)

configuration is all about?

Yes. Using the Shared option you can gain access to LXCC through the same port you are sending and receiving normal data.

With this shared port configuration, can the XClarityController website be opened on the same system?
