difference between Ordered Product Model and Model

2021-01-26, 9:25 AM

Hi,

two questions about ThinkSystem SN550 7X16

1)

which is the differences between Ordered Product Model and Model ? I see it in Warranty & Services web page.

2)

Regarding the Model string I know it using for example the dmidecode command at Linux Operating System level.

Is there a way to know the "Ordered Product Model" using Linux/Windows commands?

Thanks,

Giovanni

Hi Giovanni

  • Model is the Configure-to-order (CTO) models are used to create models with factory-integrated server customizations. For CTO models, two base CTO models are available for the SN550 as listed in the following table, CTO1WW and CTOLWW:
    • The CTO1WW base CTO model is for general business and is selectable by choosing General Purpose mode in DCSC.
    • The CTOLWW base model is intended for High Performance Computing (HPC) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) configurations and solutions.
  • Ordered Product Model is the model which based on above CTO model to configure different CPU, memory, drives, RAID.... for your request.

Hi Giovanni

Could you please provide the screenshot of the Warranty & Services web page you checked.

According to KB How to check basic warranty status and repair status information on the product home page, you should find Model information only.
