Access Connections Problem

My problem is that Access Connections does not sense any wireless connections unless the windows "network center" has first connected to one.  Then, Access Connections will only see that one connection.  In short, it appears that the windows network manager and Access Connections are both operating and are interfering.  I do not see a way to disable the windows connection manager (the "Network and Sharing Center").

What I'd like to do is use Access Connections to manager all of the network connections, but that definitely does not work.

This is a W500 with factory installed Win7 64bit OS.

Thanks!

Lyle
