How to Create Recovery Media on External Hard Disk

Hi everyone,

I have been trying to create a backup recovery media on my external hard disk but is unable to accomplish so as my hard disk is recognised as a "Logical Drive"rather than the "Primary Drive" required. I have tried searching numerous forums and have done a handful of reformating and drive deletion but is still unable to obtain a "Primary Drive on my external hard disk.

Currently,as reflected on my Vista Disk Management, I have got 1 "EISA Configuation", 2 "Primary Partition"and1 "Logical Disk" in my computer. As for my external hard disk, I have 2 "Logical Disk" partitions on it.

Basic Info:

OS: Vista Business

Rescue and Recovery: V4.1

Anyone who knows how primary drives could be created on external hard disk, please kindly give me some instructions as to how it could be done so as to create the bootable drives needed for Rescue and Recovery.

Thank You SO much!!
