Great article - Adjusting/fixing Lenovo Mouse Pad capabilities/sensitivities on Ubuntu

2015-10-27, 19:49 PM

take a look at this and read how to fix/adjust mouse pads on Ubuntu...  worked great for me on my Lenovo W540 and ubuntu 15.10.

The article talks about a package already in the Ubuntu respositories thats simple to install.

$ sudo apt-get install gpointing-device-settings

the just run it which will present the GUI.   Despite what the article says the GUI version does a lot already:

$ sudo gpointing-device-settings

There is a CLI and a GUI version and I just used the GU version to fix my W540 problem with the Mouse Pad's sensitivity to my left palm.    In 2 seconds my W540 mouse pad was now usuable.

this also worked on my L540

Since Mint is based off of Ubuntu I would guess it and any other similar Ubuntu related distro this might work on as well.
