Lenovo WIFI and Ubuntu

2015-12-06, 16:52 PM

I have a Lenovo z50-75-15-6 and have fixed the problems with WIFI with advice from

http://askubuntu.com/questions/627903/wi-fi-problem-on-lenovo-z50-70-with-realtek-rtl8723be

It seems to work fine but need manual update every few weeks. (Everytime Ubuntu gets a new kernel)

Are we to few users that have Lenovo and Ubuntu for the updates to be included in the normal updates of Ubunto or is it a more difficult problem to fix?

Look for a dkms package in the package manager for Ubuntu.

There's one in the AUR (for ArchLinux and related) here:
https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/rtlwifi_new-dkms/

Having a dkms package for it will automatically recompile the module whenever you change your kernel.
