Linux compatibility with Yoga C930

Hi, anybody succeed in installing Linux on Yoga C930? What works and what doesn't? From a review, somebody mentioned that the wifi card does not work under Ubuntu. Can anybody confirm that please?

Re: Linux compatibility with Yoga C930

Hey, I bought Yoga C930 two days ago and am currenrly running Linux Mint 19 from a bootable USB flash drive.

In a nutshell most things work by default. I had issues with the wifi and bluetooth but that's easily fixed using:

sudo modprobe -r ideapad_laptop

For the subwoofer below the touch pad you'd have to install alsa-tools-gui and use hdajackretask to set pin 0x17 override to Dock Headphone. Other settings also work, but I am stuck with this one atm.

Screen rotation should be enabled using the settings. Threre is an issue with the touch and the mouse which is not inverted by default but I guess that is also easy to fix and already read a couple of posts about how to do it.

Overall it's running smoothly and I like it.

Cheers!

Microphone doesn't work at the moment in Audacity

Re: Linux compatibility with Yoga C930

Thanks. Do sound level and brightness function keys work? What about the touch screen?

Re: Linux compatibility with Yoga C930

Sound, brightness and all of the FN keys work for me.

Touch screen also works although it's not as good as expected. For example you could enable screen rotation/orientation change and while the screen is properly rotated the mouse is not. So depending on the orientation of the screen the mouse (and touch respectively) do not rotate along with the screen and the feeling is that it's inversed.

Another issue I have is chrome browser does not prompt for camera/mic permissions and I ended up using firefox instead.

Other than those I don't have any other problems.
