Re: Linux compatibility with Yoga C930

Hi,

i installed ubuntu (18.04 / 18.10) on the c930.

After starting the system the E-Ink Keyboard is visible for a short time and disappears.
I can´t use the E-Ink Display in Linux at all.

So, what can i do to get that E-Ink-display working?

What is the best Distro to use with that c930?

THX!

Re: Linux compatibility with Yoga C930

I've tried Fedora, Manjaro and Antergos, they all worked well with the c930. For Gnome, Fedora was the most polished and all table features worked well.

OK, and you had no problems with the e-Ink - display keyboard and Pen Features?

Re: Linux compatibility with Yoga C930

You are in the wrong forum. Yoga c930 does not have an e-ink display. The Yoga Book C930 does.

No one is sure why they decided to name them that way.

Re: Linux compatibility with Yoga C930

Hy Guys!

Has anybody had any luck since the original post in successfully setting up the issues below?

- Microphone
- Base/mid speakers (under device)

I've tried a lot of stuff on Linux Mint 19.1 but without any luck. Everything works like a charm except these ones and it's a bit frustrating.

Regarding the fingerprint sensor I saw this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8jNI3ADmS9o&feature=youtu.be&t=383

Haven't tried it yet but might worh a shot.

Re: Linux compatibility with Yoga C930

At least for X1E, I tried several distributions but Pop!_OS was the only one that worked right out of the box. Could anybody please try it on a C930 and report back?

Re: Linux compatibility with Yoga C930

I can confirm that the following don't yet seem to work on any Linux distro that I've tried:

  • Deep suspend mode (i.e., where it doesn't drain the battery)
  • Bass and mid speakers
  • Microphone
  • Fingerprint reader

I've tried Ubuntu, Arch, and NixOS.

I'm really hoping that someone can help solve the suspend mode issue, because it's driving me nuts to put my computer in suspend mode, only to open it up an hour later to find that it died. If anyone has a solution for this, please let me know.

I've tried contacting Lenovo every possible way, but they say since it's a software issue (BIOS?), I'd have to pay for premium support. This is super frustrating.
