Re:[P340 tiny] How to enable iOMMU and SR-IOV in P340 tiny BIOS for Ubuntu?

2021-10-14, 0:37 AM

I want to use intel i-350T4 network card SR-IOV

P340tiny BIOS design issues lead to errors. There is no problem with the IOMMU and SR-IOV at the linux kernel. IOMMU SR-IOV should be a function of the PCI Subsystem and should not be tied to secure boot.

It is hoped that Lenovo will fix the BIOS problems of IOMMU and SR-IOV. This problem is still very serious, which directly leads to the decline of ThinkStation usability, which in turn reduces the market share of sales.

Hello,

I am NOT a Lenovo employee, they do not necessarily read or monitor this public forum.

Communicate your wishes directly with Lenovo Technical Support, or if you have a Warranty active, your Warranty representative....

I know LOTS of people blame the BIOS, occasionaly it really is the BIOS.  For your network card, check with the card mfr for Linux drivers and check with Ubuntu, or your distribution, for drivers.

Good Luck!

Hi alex

I don't know the answer to your question - but I've created a ticket and we'll have a look at it (for my reference LO-1392). Afraid my team don't have much experience with SR-IOV

If you can share more details as to why you believe it is a BIOS issue that would be helpful. I'm afraid your post, at least from my point of view, didn't get much attention as it's lacking in details of what you tried, what doesn't work, etc. Please share as many details as possible to help us reproduce and narrow down on the issue quickly

Thanks

Mark
