T530 boots 1 sec after Ubuntu power off, occasionally

I am current at BIOS 2.74 (latest), and when I did that I did set defaults in BIOS and then set what little I needed to. I run BIOS/MBR and boot legacy/UEFI for the occasional UEFI USB stick I have when repairing things. I removed quiet and splash from the grub command but last thing I see is the starting power off. Most of the time it just power off's and the power light goes off as ex[pected, but once in a while, , 1 sec later, the power light pops on again and it boots up as normal. just as if I had flicked the power buton.  This started happening at 18.10 (clean/new partition install), but doesn seem related.

My post about it at Ubuntu:

any ideas?

Thanks!
