Re: X1 Tablet gen3 microphone

Works out of the box in debian stable (and I guess many other Linux OSes). Which one do you use?

Interesting. I'm on Fedora 28 (4.18 kernel), but also tried Ubuntu 18.04 liveUSB. Which kernel version are you using? Would you mind sharing the output of alsa-info.sh with me?

Re: X1 Tablet gen3 microphone

Tested Debian Stable (stretch; 4.9 kernel) and microphone was not working. Do you have an i7?

Btw there is also bugreport on bugzilla now: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1648723

Re: X1 Tablet gen3 microphone

I am using Kernel 4.9 and have a i7-8650U CPU. alsa-info.sh does not exist in debian. Which command(s) does it trigger or what would you like to know exactly?

If it is not working with the debian livefs image, you may have a hardware issue. I did not test if it works with Fedora or Ubuntu.

Re: X1 Tablet gen3 microphone

You need alsa-utils for the command. It collects all information relevant for sound from different sources. Would like to compare it to mine and see if there are any relevant differences. Mine is a i7-8550U.

Could be a hardware issue but why would it work on windows then.

Re: X1 Tablet gen3 microphone

Makes sense. I have sent you the alsa-info output from my X1Y3 via PM.

Re: X1 Tablet gen3 microphone

Cheers for the file. I see you're on a Yoga. That might already be a reason.

Re: X1 Tablet gen3 microphone

Sorry, my fault. For some reason I was assuming you have a Yoga and not a Tablet.

Re: X1 Tablet gen3 microphone

No microphone, camera or fingerprint scanner working in the wild yet afaik.

da-cali put together the fixes for most of the stuff (although my volume buttons don't work still):

https://github.com/da-cali/linux-x1-tablet

amosbird just fixed fnlock by the looks:

https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Ubuntu/X1-Gen3-Tablet-Linux-support/m-p/4583846/highlight/true#M3278

And we're back...

Move delayed but still coming
