I've applied the sister update on my ThinkPad T480s (version 1.26). No real changes to how Linux does (not) see the card that I can notice.

Thanks for letting us know, no need to bother trying to update my T480 then.. especially now that I've completely ditched windows on the machine bios update is a bit more difficult.

Check out geteltorito for bios updates when you don't have a Windows partition laying around.

Actually I just found out there is an even easier method! Lenovo now seems to support LVFS, and "fwupdmgr get-updates" lists 1.17 firmware as update option! Didn't dare to try it yet though..

Re: X1C gen 6 - Fibocom L850-GL - Ubuntu 18.04

Hey folks!

There is an easy solution.

Basically, if you plug in something that doesn't have a PCIe interface, it just works Smiley Wink Kinda "works", though: ACPI will not export a WWAN killswitch and will force assert W_DISABLE1 pin. Nothing that a piece of kapton or varnish won't fix, though.

W_DISABLE1 is pin 8 on an M.2 key B connector, that is, 4th of 5 on the module's "bottom side" counting from the edge that is closer to the key.

Specifically with EM7455, this can be fixed in software even:

Proof of concept attached.

Hi,

I understand that intelfx has plugged a EM7455 to a usb adapter, then this LTE card is recognized by ubuntu, correct ?

Interesting but what about the antennas ?

Incorrect. It works off the internal WWAN M.2 slot. And this ain't Ubuntu.
