Actually, I'm working as a developer on my Lenovo ideapad-320, running Linux Ubuntu 18.04. I'd like to change my theme from dark to light on different times of the day. I wrote a crontab task to do so, the task is running, but nothing happens, however, when I run the command alone in terminal, it works fine, what am i missing ? here is my crontab
0 19 * * * gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.interface gtk-theme 'Vimix-Dark-Laptop-Ruby'
0 19 * * * gsettings set org.gnome.shell.extensions.user-theme name 'Vimix-Dark-Laptop-Ruby'
0 7 * * * gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.interface gtk-theme 'Vimix-Light-Laptop-Ruby'
0 7 * * * gsettings set org.gnome.shell.extensions.user-theme name 'Vimix-Light-Laptop-Ruby'
40-45 * * * * echo "Hello world" >> /home/newton/Desktop/hello.txt
note that the echo command works fine , but the theme isn't changing?
Any suggestions! Thanks in advance
