2019-09-18, 0:06 AM

i have bought the new lenevo notebook: ThinkPad P1 Gen 2. i have installed "ubuntu 18.04.03 lts" on my notebook. after logging in my ubuntu i coudnt connect to my wifi network because in settings -> WiFi i get a messsage that says: "No wifi adapter found".

Is there any solution to this issues ? If not, does ThinkPad P1 Gen 2 notebooks supports ubuntu 18.04 installations ? Is there any alternative ?

Hi aka_lenovo,

Welcome to the community forums.

Do you have P1 Gen 2 with T2000 graphic card systems? If yes, then Ubuntu 18.04 is supported. You may refer to this link: https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/pd031426

You may try the suggested steps on this link: https://askubuntu.com/questions/1109226/wifi-on-lenovo-p1-with-ubuntu-18-04-no-longer-works and see how it goes.

Thanks!

Hello ,

I saw indeed accordingto ubuntu website, url :https://support.lenovo.com/nl/en/solutions/pd031426 is supported. Im not shure but i downloaded the newest ubuntu 18.04.3 desktop version and it has kernel version 5. Source: https://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2019/08/ubuntu-18-04-3-point-release. I have also install this version and my wifi and graphic card is not working.

But according to https://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=news_item&px=Intel-WiFi-6-AX200-Cyclone-Peak this source its supported in Kernel 5.1 and is also not working.

If tested, does lenovo offer ubuntu 18.04 iso installation image for public download ?

Thanks..

Yeah, you need to load the oem kernel.

sudo apt install linux-oem-osp1 linux-firmware

obviously you will need to connect to the internet first.
