crucial rams stopped working after installing Bios 2.56

2014-01-02, 23:23 PM

I have problem installing my crucial rams in my w530 lenovo after updating bios to 2.56. it was working before the update but for some reason it didn't work after and i can't even see the bios menu.

my 2 ram is CT51264BC1067.M16FD (4gb 204-pin sodimm 512x64 ddr)
I tired all sort of combination between slots (i have 4) and nothing. so i thought the problem maybe with the rams so i placed them into my other computer (HP pavilion dv6) and they work fine so it must be in the updated bios.

i posted this on w530 with the orginal 4gb samsung ram that i got with the laptop plus i found that my HP has also the same brand ram that comes with w530 (samsung) and they works fine so its the problem is not in the rams slots or hardware. is there away to downgrade the bios or make recongize my rams?? :smileysad: thank you

Why did you buy 1066MHz?  What you really want is 1333 or better still 1600.

W530 | 3840QM | 32g @ 1.35v CL9 1986z | 512g 840 Pro | 1t HGST 7200 | FHD AUO v.4 | Quadro K2k | GOBI 5k | Centrino 6300

i didn't know alot about rams and my friend recommand them so i got them. I just don't know anything about MHz before and I thought if they didn't work that means they not compaitible, but they worked. I would never thought if i updated my bios MHz would be an issue. I shouldn't have down the bios update
