Installing Windows 10 for first time

Hello

I bought a new thinkpad T14S AMD laptop and it doesn't have an operating system. I have prepared Windows installation setup in a USB stick memory and I tried to start the installation process but I couldn't because the laptop doesn't recognize the USB stick memory.....could you please help to find a way to install Windows in my new laptop.

Re:Installing Windows 10 for first time

I do not see any option in the BIOS to enable/disable USB Booting unless you have specifically excluded it from the Startup >> Boot list (at the top with the --> preceding it), so make sure that you are creating your Windows 10 Installation media using Microsoft's Media Creation Tool (see link below) and then tap F12 at startup to access the Boot Menu to select your USB drive.

How to: Perform a Clean Install or Reinstall of Windows 10

FYI    If you purchased the system without the Windows OS, it will probably NOT have a license key imbedded in the BIOS, so if not you will need to purchase a Windows 10 License.   You might still be able to upgrade from Windows 7 if you have an older license, but I have not tried that in several months.

Re:Installing Windows 10 for first time

Yes I couldn't find anything of enabling USB booting.......what I did....I have changed the priority of the boot list by putting the USB HDD first option....after restart the laptop,  I found only two available options for the internal drive and the network drive in the boot menu.....if the USB booting option is not available...then how can I install the Windows in my laptop?
