Intel Online Connect fails to install

2018-01-21, 10:19 AM

I was looking into Intel Online Connect, since Lenovo lists my ThinkPad X1 Yoga 2nd gen as compatible (https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/rs/en/products/LAPTOPS-AND-NETBOOKS/THINKPAD-X-SERIES-LAPTOPS/THINKPAD-X1-YOGA-TYPE-20JD-20JE-20JF-20JG/downloads/DS500906).

But whenever I try to install it, setup fails with error 0x80070643. There is no clear enough information about why, just the ininteligible log attached.

Does somebody have any idea of what could be going on?

Thanks!

I had no trouble installing Intel Online Connect here, but I will see if I can find someone that can interpret the log you attached.

Will TP25 be added as supported?  I see T470, T470s are on the list.

thanks!

I appreciate that. I tried posting it to Intel Community but nobody answered. And as you can see in the log, is not helpful at all unless you are very familiar with Intel.

I'll be waiting for any answer. Thank you.

Unfortunately, Intel was also unable to find the problem from the install log.  Now we are waiting to hear from them about what additional info they need, where to get it, etc.

Intel has requested the following info to debug this problem further:

Logs:

From the log the user has uploaded, it looks like Intel® Online Connect is creating 3 additional log files that the user has not uploaded:

  1. Intel®_Online_Connect_20180121225343_000_IOCA_INSTALLER.log
  2. Intel®_Online_Connect_20180121225343_001_IOC_UPDATER.log
  3. Intel®_Online_Connect_20180121225343_002_IOC_INSTALLER.log

We would like to get a copy of all the log files from C:\Users\Carlos\AppData\Local\Temp

System configuration details:

  1. Processor (Grab this information string from Control Panel\System and Security\System – Processor)
  2. OS version (Run winver.exe to get this)
  3. ME FW version
  4. ME SW version
  5. Graphics driver version
  6. Fingerprint sensor driver version
