Intel wireless adapters broken by Windows 10 Fall Creator's update

2017-10-26, 13:06 PM

I have a Lenovo Thinkpad E550. It has an Intel wifi adapter 3160. It worked fine until I had the creator's update and then it only works intermittently. 80% of the time it doesn't work. It can see wireless networks but it cannot connect.

I've got the latest drivers, I've got them from Lenovo and also tried getting them from Intel too. I've flushed the DNS, Ipconfig, and reset the adapter.

On the off change that the adapter was broken I bought a new one, an Intel 7265, but this has the same problem (except it never works).

I don't want to have to reinstall my whole system to an earlier version of windows with all the hastle that brings.
