Re:Lenovo devices tested for Windows 10 version 2004 (May, 2020)

Dont think its the 2004 release itself, but an KB update that came after the may 2004 release. MS is informed with the Feedback app but i dont expect any feedback.

Stay with 1909 atm.

Problem will still be in the october update that is due also i think. Tested the latest beta and still problems.

Hi,

I have Lenovo laptop V330-15IKB:

Type: 81AX

Model: 006HBM

Serial number: ********

But cannot update MS Win 10 Pro ver. 1909 to ver. 2004 still. When I'll be able to update OS to the recent available version?

Best regards,

Mario

Hello M.V.

Windows will let you know when everything is in order for your device to accept the update.

Same issue here as well.  I have the Lenovo Thinkpad S1 Yoga, and have seen no movement on any devices for this.  Glad to here some Lenovo devices were updated, but overall is Lenovo and Microsoft abandoning these devices?  I reported this issue back to Microsoft when I was on the beta program earlier this year (around February or March).  Still no progress at all.

So no fixes to upgrade past 1909? On a laptop barely a year old? Even my old Yoga 720 updated to 2004. Running a Yoga 730 now, purchased just over a year ago. Nothing but freezing up after upgrading windows.

Hello Bugbatter,

I have a Lenovo ideapad 510-15IKB (serial number: ******** Removed to prevent abuse ), and keep having in the Windows Update screen the message that the Windows 10 May 2020 update is on its way. I do not see my laptop 510-15IKB mentioned on the list on https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/ht510448#ideapad

Will my Lenovo laptop become one of the devices tested for Windows 10 version 2004 in the near future?

Based on the information on the Microsoft windows website https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/release-health/status-windows-10-2004 , the Conexant audio driver seems to be the issue putting the windows update on hold. Is there an update of this Conexant HDAudio Driver available that I can install, and will allow the windows update? I have tried searching automatically through Computer Management> Device Manager, but there is get the message the driver is up-to-date.

Would perhaps temporarily uninstalling the driver allow for the Windows 10 May 2020 update to be pushed? Meaning I reinstall the audio driver after the upgrade. Or would that cause issues.

Looking forward to hear from you. Thanks in advance for your help.

Regards,

Hendri

Hello,
I am not employed by Lenovo, so I do not know if your model is still in compatibility testing. Now that another version of Windows 10 is available (20H2) they may have begun testing for that one instead.
Mentioned on the Microsoft page you linked to is that the update is on hold until the driver has been updated. Be patient. Windows update will let you know when all is well.
If you want to manually check for drivers start at the Lenovo eSupport page. Eventually you will reach the page with all the drivers available for your model.
In addition, you could keep using Lenovo Vantage to find updates. If you do not have it, it is free from the Microsoft Store.
I don't think uninstalling the current driver will help because Windows will still be looking for the best driver, even if you reinstall your current one after updating. It's up to you, however, if you want to try.
