Miix 310 Keyboard Issue After Windows 1803 Update

2018-05-17, 17:25 PM

Performed a clean install of Windows 10 1803 after the update failed. Got all drivers installed now and no problem devices shown in device manager. All appears to work with one remaining issue: if I close the tablet to put it to sleep and then when I resume it the keyboard and trackpad are unresponsive.

In this state the touchscreen is working and Windows seems to be working. There are some orange triangles against some HID devices in device manager. Removing the keyboard does not help although the tablet does snap into tablet mode so something there is responsive. Also in this state the tablet cannot be shut down (it sticks at the shutting down spinner) and has to be killed by holding the power button.

Saw nothing helpful in event viewer and don't know what to do next - all was fine in 1709.

Thanks,

Gary

I have exactly the same issue with Miix 300-10iby Tablet!

I have tried to change the energy saving options, but it does not change the problem. After closing the Tablet there is a 50% chance that the keyboard and touchpad are not working.

It is then also not possible to shutdown or restart the tablet. It stay on "shutting down" forever. Only a 10 second press on the power button (hard power off) is possible to use the tablet again.

Windows 10 1803 32 bit

Please help !

So I reached some stability by updating the BIOS. Installing the BIOS labelled "Redstone 1" (filename 1hcn44ww.exe) from the Lenovo support site has largely made this stop happening. My tablet previous had version 40.

Yes that was MIIX 310 BIOS. Only other thing I can suggest is check you are up to date on Windows update and also check for updated drivers for your other hardware. I went through devices in Device Manager right clicking and choosing Update Driver. Sometimes new drivers are found on Windows update this way.

All drivers and windows are uptodate :(

In the HID Tab in the device manager there are serveral driver twice: HID Systemcontroller, HID Userdevice, HID Manufacture device, USB Input. (I have translated from German so maybe the names are not exactly)

Is that normal ?!

BIOS update fixed this for me. WARNING! Triggers BitLocker. Make sure you have your recovery key.

I list the symptoms hoping somebody's search will bring them here as it did me.

After the latest Windows Update, whenever the keyboard is disconnected for any reason (including sleep) it stops working.

Device Manager shows a large number errors on HIDs saying no driver is installed. Attempting to update a driver says the best driver is installed. Attempting to uninstall a driver hangs with a progress bar.

Attempting to shut down or restart the PC hangs until the power button is held long enough to force a power off. Pressing the power button causes the screen to flicker.

Really sad to know this that there is no BIOS file at lenovo official website yes there is a link but i can't download it.

Moreover my tablet pc is not a tablet pc anymore it is just a tablet with win 10 on it.

And most drama thing is this that that when i try to use keyboard and mouse pad it is not working but when i plug in any usb it worked super fine wirelss mouse working find only this error.

Unknow USB Decive (Device Descriptor Request Failed)
