Some settings are hidden or managed by your organization

2019-08-18, 11:35 AM

Hi,

The abouve mentioned text, is shown in various tabs of the settings menu. (windows 10-Pro, 64bit)

I have tried a number of solutions, but not with any positive result regrettably:

https://www.xtremerain.com/some-settings-are-managed-by-your-organization/

and

https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-update/system-file-check-sfc-scan-and-repair-system-files/bc609315-da1f-4775-812c-695b60477a93

and

https://answers.microsoft.com/nl-nl/windows/forum/windows_10-other_settings-winpc/sommige-instellingen-zijn-verborgen-of-worden/05a5caa0-26fa-4a43-9830-6e59d23822e5

It seems that there is a relation between this problem and the use of the fingerprint scanner. I'm having trouble (random) logging in with my fingerprint ; it malfunctions but worked fine before.

Now microsoft themselves refer me to Lenovo. Anyone familiar with this problem and even more the solution?

THNX

Kees

Hi,

Which specific settings pages do you see this message on?  I haven't dug through your links, but I see this on my Win 10 machines on the update page after using gpedit to change update settings.

Since you mention multiple tabs it's probaby not update setttings... It might help others help you puzzle this out if you list the tabs involved, and perhaps the model of your PC and the Win 10 build version. When did this show up? Any Win or Lenovo updates at the time?

Sorry I don't have a specific fix for you :(

Z.

Are your questions referencing a system which you have been provided by your employer and has been installed / configured with their corporate update and security policies? If so this will be the reason you are seeing messages similar to the two below taken from my Lenovo issued system. To make changes it may be necessary to visit the IT department.

Hello,

For what it is worth, I get the "*Some settings are hidden or managed by your organization." warning if I go into the Advanced options under Windows Update and change any of the settings there.

Regards,
