Thinkpad W530 - Windows 10 graphic issues

2015-08-11, 22:04 PM

Hi, everyone, I successfully install Windows 10

and I have most stuff works properly.

but Im facing 2 graphic issues.
firstly see this gif
https://i.gyazo.com/da7765a7395e30f759e574a9715650e5.gif
i have a main monitor which is on the left screen and right is my laptop screen.
the main monitor is drived by my Nvidia K2000m video card (the laptop screen is drived by intel), and this browser is also runed by it, when i full screen it on the right and drag it to main monitor and full screen without stop it on it, i will give me black windows. this happend to all software which drived by Nvidia card. Or sometimes, when some kinds of game which is drived by Nvidia card quit, the other windows which is drived by Nvidia card on main screen will go to black, too.

another thing is that some games which drived by the card will suddenly not responsing, which force me to use task manager to kill it(dont know if it is a game issues or driver issues). and sometimes game will auto minimize and back to desktop.

secondly,
I cant manager the scale on my main screen. no matter how i set it, it will go to full screen even i choose aspect ratio and choose to override the software setting. sometimes no scale option even doest work. for example, both of my screen is 1920x1080, i choose it to not scale, and set the main screen to 1440x900, but it will give me 1650x1080 (similar, cant remember exact number), which is a very strange resolution.

these 2 issues never happened on windows 8.1 x64.

the driver is the newest from Nvidia which published on 7/30

hope anyone can help me,
Thanks

here is my system Info

GPU: Nvidia Quadro K2000M
CPU: Intel i7 3720QM
Model: Thinkpad W530
Memory: 18G
Monitor: Asus MX239H
OS: Windows 10 x64

Hi, what was the process you went through to update to 10?  Did you just do the up date and it worked (appart from the graphics issue), or did you have to find and install drivers etc?  Just wondering how easy it is.  I have more or less the same config as you.  I do have issues with graphics on 8.1 also. E.g. my 1080p laptop screen often get "stuck" at 1050 even after shutdown and restart (not hibernate), and frequently it wont recognise my 30" displayport dell monitor, I have to sleep and wake it then it recognises it (with an expensive cable too).  The thought of more graphics issues puts me of upgrading.

Well, I went through it very easy, firstly I just did the auto-update to win10 and activated it, and then i downloaded the Win10 ISO and did a full clean install on a new SSD. all the drivers were got from lenovo and nvidia website. for your problem, I recommend you to check the nvidia setting in the nvidia panel, also the dell monitor display setting.
