Trackpoint and touchpad settings missing after disk change

2020-05-13, 17:53 PM

I changed the SSD on my thinkpad T495 recently, and after installing Windows 10, I noticed that the ThinkPad tab with Trackpoint and touchpad settings disappeared from the additional mouse settings view. I would be very grateful for some help, I tried installing the UltraNav driver but it says I already have the best drivers installed

The tab in red is the one I don't see, and I could really use these settings

Trackpoint and touchpad settings missing after disk change

Download the latest touchpad driver (Synaptics or Elan) from https://support.lenovo.com/ or download Lenovo Vantage and let it automatically install updates.

Thank you for the reply!

I have Lenovo Vantage installed, with auto-update enabled. I aslo tried to manually install all the drivers from https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-t-series-laptops/thinkpad-t495-type-20nj-20nk/downloads/driver-list/component?name=Mouse,%20Pen%20and%20Keyboard

Still, the settings are missing

Did you verify the cables are properly connected to the motherboard after you swapped the SSD? Maybe one of them is partially or not all the way plugged in.

I didn't check the cables specifically, but I also didn't touch them - unless by accident when lifting the lid. But if it would be an issue with the cables, wouldn't I have other problems as well, like touchpad not working?
