Re: Windows 10 April 2018 Update (1803): Windows Hello / Synaptics WBD (SGX enabled) Fingerprint Rea

This is pretty ridiculous.  This functionality broke in APRIL.  and we still have to go through some crazy hoops to get it working again?  **bleep** is the Vantage app for if it doesn't push updates for this kind of thing?

I have the same issue- unable to find the 27 MB driver version.

This is very annoying.

Good news, I was finally able to find the full version of the 5.2.3527.26 update (this one is 29 MB):

I installed that and my fingerprint reader is back! I'm excited to have it back.

Hello,

Can you tell how did you install the .cab file?

I tried using DISM, nothing happened but error messages. I tried extracting the content - still nothing.

Hello again,

My Synaptics WBDI(SGX enabled) is working properly, yet I have no menu for fingerprints... I tried all in this and other threads - nothing...

Good find, looking for a fix on the Yoga 730 and was looking for this.

Now need to find a way to uninstall the new version that is on here and install this and try to work my way forwards.

Will pot back as I am sure other Yoga 730 users will have this problem..

All I have done is do the upgrades from the website last night and it has happened.

I give up..

Seems the only way this will fix is via a system reset.

What pisses me off, is that it only happened after coming into the Lenovo site and downloading the upgrade drivers for the "Brand New" Laptop.

Posted a comment into the Youtube forums on it as really.. for the price, these are ($AU2800) But I got mine on the boxing day special.. So a little under 2g (but flicked a yoga 900 off on ebay and still got good coin for it)

I would be pissed if I brought it as a corporate package and this happened. AS I have spent a good few days installing uninstalling..

trying driver upgrades downgrades..and all I have got it the same result.

plus I got the other driver bug happening which is the "Detection Verification" in other drives..

Have narrowed that down to a realtec driver and actually did a driver upgrade but lost sound..

So went back to the drivers off the Lenovo website and it came back.. So that means that the driver on the website is not full or correct.. Really Lenovo???

I was tossing up going the HP or Dell and settled on this.. I am hoping it was not a bad move.

As I have swopped out of the Yoga 900 to this. As I needed the bigger screen and HDMI for teaching and training.

Will report back if this ever gets fixed..

Re: Windows 10 April 2018 Update (1803): Windows Hello / Synaptics WBD (SGX enabled) Fingerprint Rea

I’ve tried all solutions mentioned above and nothing worked for my Yoga 720-13IKB. So frustrated , I’ve start searching for similar driver on Lenovo Support website and stumble upon this driver which is very small compared to other ones , only 3.5MB.

https://support.lenovo.com/rs/en/downloads/DS500671

But as it seems its very new, from 17 Jan 2019 and it’s for Windows 10 Version 1809 but my Win 10 is still on 1803.  I’ve install it over my broken driver (original that came with laptop) and now Biometric device shows no error in Device manager. Since I’m working over RD I’ll try tomorrow morning if it’s actually working, when I reach my office.

My older driver and the new one are attached
